Comfortable and compact, the Chisel Lounge Chair (2023), designed by Andreas Bergsaker for HAY, is a contemporary take on the molded plywood chair. Featuring a distinctive silhouette and a comfortably sloped seat, this form-pressed solid wood chair is visually and physically inviting. Its angled legs and beveled edges resemble the shaped cutting edge of a chisel, thus the chair’s name.

Delivery is free for most areas within the UK (England, Wales, Scotland, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Isles of Scilly and the Channel Islands). For Northern Ireland a delivery charge of £50 will be added to orders in the checkout.

Returns

We want you to love every item you receive from us, but we understand that there are times when you may want to arrange a return.

If you’re not 100% happy with an item purchased online from Herman Miller, you can return it to us in its original condition within 14 days of delivery. For all seating and desks, a £49 collection charge will be applied and deducted from your refund total. If your order is delivered via FedEx please retain all packaging until you are satisfied with your purchase.

Warranty

HAY provides a 5-year product warranty, which covers materials and workmanship on our furniture frame and upholstery. The warranty covers faults which were present at the time of purchase or which have occurred as a result of defects present at the time of purchase. The warranty period of 5 years is calculated from the date on the original invoice.

Spare parts are available throughout the 5 year warranty period.

Designer

Andreas Bergsaker

Andreas Bergsaker (b. 1990) is a Norwegian product designer based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He graduated with a master degree in Product Design from Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences (HiOA) in 2015. His work covers different everyday objects, designed for product longevity and generations to come. His designs are rooted in the exploration of material and shape, and referencing cultural heritage with an emphasis on traditional craftsmanship, industrial production processes and tactile qualities. His work has led to exhibitions in London, Milan, New York, Oslo and Stockholm.
